What You Need
-
115g self-raising flour
-
27g butter
-
100ml whole milk (plus a little extra for brushing)
-
60g Primula Cheese & Chives
-
3g dried chives
How You Do It
-
Preheat your oven to 200°C / 390°F and lightly grease a baking tray.
-
Make the dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and a pinch of salt. Rub in the butter until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs.
-
Squeeze in the flavour: Add the Primula Cheese & Chives and dried chives. Stir through the milk a little at a time to form a soft, slightly sticky dough. (You might not need it all.)
-
Shape: Lightly knead the dough on a floured surface and pat into a round around 2cm thick.
-
Cut and repeat: Use a 5cm cutter to stamp out scones. Re-roll any trimmings and cut again to use all the dough.
-
Bake: Place on the tray, brush with a little milk, and bake for 12–15 minutes until golden and well risen.
-
Serve: Cool slightly on a wire rack and enjoy warm with an extra squeeze of Primula!
