The Best Jacket Potato with Original Squeeze

It takes a lot for us to call any recipe ‘the best’, but we’ve worked our way through all of the techniques to find the perfect jacket potato. This recipe will give you a crisp skin with a deliciously fluffy centre that gets even better with a squeeze of Primula cheese. Here’s how to make the best jacket potato, ever!

What you need

  • 4 floury potatoes (Maris Piper or King Edward)
  • Olive oil
  • Flaked sea salt
  • Filling of choice
  • 140g tube of Primula Cheese

How you do it

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C/gas mark 7.

  2. Wash the potatoes well, dry them and prick a few times with a fork.

  3. Rub a small amount of olive oil onto the potatoes and scatter with salt.

  4. Place directly onto the top oven shelf and bake for 20 minutes.

  5. Reduce the oven temperature to 190°C/gas mark 5 and bake for a further 45-60 minutes or until the skin is crisp and golden and the centre is fluffy and soft.

  6. Remove from the oven and cut a slit along the centre.

  7. Add your chosen filling and top with Primula Cheese.

  8. And serve (the most perfect and melty jacket potatoes, ever!).
