Cheesy Shakshuka
Our Cheesy Shakshuka recipe is literally bursting with flavour! Baked eggs, creamy cheese and a spicy tomato sauce – what’s not to love?! Shakshuka is traditionally served at breakfast but we’re fans of this flavoursome dish any time of day!
What you need
- 3 tbsp Primula Spicy Cheese ‘n’ Jalapeños
- 1 red pepper, sliced
- 1 red onion, sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 tins chopped tomatoes
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- 4 eggs
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- Toasted bread, to serve
How you do it
Preheat oven to 180c.
Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
Add the peppers and onions and cook until soft.
Add the garlic, tomatoes, spices and salt and pepper to taste.
Cook for 5 minutes until thick and saucy.
Use a wooden spoon to make 4 wells in the mixture and carefully crack an egg into each well.
Cook in the oven for 8-10 minutes, until the white of the eggs has just set.
Dot the Primula Spicy Cheese ‘n’ Jalapeños on top and swirl through with a spoon.
Sprinkle over the parsley and serve with crusty bread for dipping.
