Cheesy Shakshuka

Our Cheesy Shakshuka recipe is literally bursting with flavour! Baked eggs, creamy cheese and a spicy tomato sauce - what’s not to love?! Shakshuka is traditionally served at breakfast but we’re fans of this flavoursome dish any time of day!

Tube of Primula Spicy Cheese 'n' Jalapenos
  • 3 tbsp Primula Spicy Cheese 'n' Jalapeños
  • 1 red pepper, sliced
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tins chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • Toasted bread, to serve
How you do it
How you do it
  • Preheat oven to 180c.
  • Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the peppers and onions and cook until soft.
  • Add the garlic, tomatoes, spices and salt and pepper to taste.
  • Cook for 5 minutes until thick and saucy.
  • Use a wooden spoon to make 4 wells in the mixture and carefully crack an egg into each well.
  • Cook in the oven for 8-10 minutes, until the white of the eggs has just set.
  • Dot the Primula Spicy Cheese 'n' Jalapeños on top and swirl through with a spoon.
  • Sprinkle over the parsley and serve with crusty bread for dipping.
