Cheese, Caramelised Onion & Thyme Puffs
Make the most of ‘summer thyme’ with our deliciously melty Cheese, Caramelised Onion & Thyme Puffs. They’re perfect for picnics and so simple to make that you’ll find any excuse to whip out the pastry and turn on the oven. Sunday brunch is a good one, but we know there are plenty more!
What you need
- 500g puff pastry
- 1 egg yolk
- 300g caramelised onion chutney
- 150g Primula Cheese ‘n’ Ham
- 2 thyme sprigs
How you do it
Preheat your oven to 200°C/400°F/Gas Mark 6 and line a large baking tray with greaseproof paper.
Roll out the pastry on a lightly floured surface. With a circular pastry cutter, cut 12 x 6cm. Cut a smaller circle in the centre of 6 to make a ring. Stack the rings on the remaining circles.
Brush the pastry with egg yolk and bake in the oven for 18-20 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
Remove from the oven and set aside to cool.
Fill the centre of each puff with the chutney and a swirl of Primula Cheese.
Garnish with thyme and pass out the puffs!
