  • 120g Primula Burger Cheese
  • 1 cauliflower, sliced
  • Seasoned Flour:
  • 200g plain flour
  • Salt and pepper
  • Batter:
  • 150g plain flour
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 4 tsp ground paprika
  • 2 tsp turmeric
  • 2 red chilli flakes
  • 250ml sparkling water
  • Vegetable oil for deep frying
    • To serve:
    • Buns
    • Lettuce
    • Red onion

  • Place 300g of flour on a baking tray, season and mix well.
  • In a large bowl, add the dry batter ingredients and mix well. Slowly whisk in the water to form a thick batter. You may need to adjust the amount of liquid needed depending on the flour.
  • Place the cauliflower into the seasoned flour, then the batter. Shake off any excess batter and place in the frying oil. (To ensure a perfectly crisp burger the oil must not cool down - we recommend cooking no more than 2 burgers at a time.)
  • Deep fry the cauliflower burgers for 6-8 minutes until golden brown and crisp. Turn during cooking to ensure an even golden crust.
  • For the ultimate Cauliflower Cheeseburger, serve on a toasted bread bun with lettuce, red onion and a generous squeeze of Primula Burger Cheese.
