Programme on Health Research

This programme, run by the Kavli Trust, funds research on preventing and combating serious illness, alleviating humanitarian need, and supporting collaborative research projects that address evidence gaps in children and adolescents mental health.

St Oswald’s Hospice

£30,000 was donated to St Oswald’s Hospice in Newcastle to build brand newplayground equipment for all the children receiving specialist care.

Tiny Lives

We donated £41,000 to Tiny Lives Trust to help fund a new initiative that brought an innovative iPad system to the Special Care Baby Unit at the RVI Hospital in Newcastle.

New Writing North

The Kavli Trust has donated to New Writing North, helping to nurture writers at all stages of their careers and support literacy initiatives in the North of England.

4Louis

We helped 4Louis provide cuddle cots and memory boxes, as well as create more bereavement rooms with a £20,000 donation

Jack’s Journey

£20,000 was donated to Jack’s Journey to help purchase a brand newcaravan so they can support more families across the North East.

St Bede’s Palliative Care Unit

We donated £25,000 to St Bede’s Palliative Care Unit to help fund a new therapy room and redesign their garden to support patients through care.

Streetlight Schools

More than £200,000 was donated to Streetlight Schools, an innovative, low-cost primary school in South Africa, to help them teach more students.

LEAP Schools

So far, we’ve donated £340,000 to LEAP Science and Maths Schools in South Africa, which now operates six no-fee schools with almost 1,000 students.
