The Best Jacket Potato

November 1, 2018

We’ve worked our way through all of the techniques to create the perfect jacket potato. A crisp skin and fluffy centre. Here’s how to make the best jacket potato, ever!

4 floury potatoes (Maris Piper or King Edward)

Olive oil

Flaked sea salt

Filling of choice

150g tube of Primula Cheese

1Preheat oven to 220°C/gas mark 7.

2Wash the potatoes well, dry them and prick a few times with a fork.

3Rub a small amount of olive oil onto the potatoes and scatter with salt.

4Place directly onto the top oven shelf and bake for 20 minutes.

5Reduce the oven temperature to 190°C/gas mark 5 and bake for a further 45-60 minutes or until the skin is crisp and golden and the centre is fluffy and soft.

6Remove from the oven and cut a slit along the centre.

7Add your chosen filling and top with Primula Cheese.

8And serve (the most perfect and melty jacket potatoes, ever!).
