Cheese, Caramelised Onion & Thyme Puffs

Make the most of ‘summer-thyme’ with our perfect for picnics and deliciously melty Cheese, Caramelised Onion & Thyme Puffs.


500g puff pastry

1 egg yolk

300g caramelised onion chutney

150g Primula Cheese with Ham

2 thyme sprigs


1Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F/Gas Mark 6 and line a large baking tray with greaseproof paper.

2Roll out the pastry on a lightly floured surface. With a circular pastry cutter, cut 12 x 6cm. Cut a smaller circle in the centre of 6 to make a ring. Stack the rings on the remaining circles.

3Brush the pastry with egg yolk and bake in the oven for 18-20 minutes, or until puffed and golden-brown.

4Remove from the oven and set aside to cool.

5Fill the centre of each puff with the chutney and a swirl of Primula Cheese.

6Garnish with thyme and serve.
